Reducing Risk, Building Resilience: A Community Approach to Brain Health

Provider: Texas A&M School of Public Health
Description: While there is no guaranteed way to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD), growing evidence highlights the importance of modifiable lifestyle and health factors in supporting brain health across the lifespan. This panel webinar will bring together experts in nutrition, physical activity, and aging to explore practical, evidence-informed approaches to ADRD risk reduction and prevention. Panelists will discuss how healthy eating patterns, regular physical activity, and individual health and well-being can contribute to overall health and cognitive resilience. The conversation will translate research into realistic strategies that individuals, families, caregivers, and communities can incorporate into everyday life.

The webinar will also highlight the role of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and County Extension Agents in bringing trusted, evidence-informed education directly into Texas communities. Participants will learn how Extension programs and local partnerships can help connect individuals and families with educational opportunities and resources that promote healthy aging and brain health. By connecting research, practical strategies, and community-based education, this panel will demonstrate how multidisciplinary partnerships can help make ADRD risk reduction part of the broader conversation around healthy living and healthy aging.
