From Data to Impact: Mastering the Art of Public Health Writing

Provider: Delta Omega
Description: Strong writing is essential in public health, but many professionals are never formally taught how to move from technical language to writing that truly connects. In Essentials in Public Health Writing, we’ll focus on practical, evidence-based strategies to help early- to mid-career professionals communicate more clearly, confidently, and persuasively.

This session features two presenters with deep experience across public health practice, research, and communications: Chirine Chehab, from Delta Omega’s Gamma Delta chapter, will share audience-centered frameworks and writing strategies grounded in nationally recognized public health guidance. Participants will learn how to plan, draft, and revise writing with purpose, using plain language, active voice, and real-world examples to strengthen clarity and flow.

Brittaney Jewel Bethea, from the Gamma Sigma chapter, will focus on helping students and emerging professionals move beyond simply describing results to writing for real-world impact. She’ll introduce practical techniques for audience-first planning and clear, compelling public health writing across common formats.
