TDH Healthy Drinking Water: A Critical Resource for Public Health 1122947

Provider: University of Memphis School of Public Health
Description: In this module, examples to demonstrate the importance of plain water consumption and the role of electrolytes contained in drinking water will be discussed. In addition, relevant facts and ideas that illustrate ways in which inadequate plain water consumption and less electrolytes in drinking water can cause adverse health consequences will be examined in detail. Water and electrolyte loss from the body also can be detrimental to health. One cause for this is an increase in high ambient heat that is due to climate change. Because high ambient heat is becoming more common to more populations, the detrimental health implications of this and other causes will be reviewed. Author: Abu Mohammed Naser Titu, PhD, MBBS
